Web Excursions are select bookmarks from my travels around the interwebs, because I'm always thinking about you while discovering other people's cool stuff. You mean that much to me. You can see all of my (public) bookmarks on my LinkDing, and visit the bookmarks archive for curated lists across the last few years.

Web excursions brought to you in partnership with CleanShot X, the absolute, hands-down best app for Mac screenshots. Get one of my all-time favorite apps here.

Snapsly

Capture any webpage as an image or PDF. Generate dynamic OG images. Built for developers who ship fast.

Nice API service with affordable plans ($9.99/month isn’t too steep if you’re actually using it). I’m using it to generate Open Graph images for public Marked Share documents.

SnipperApp 3

The AI-ready code snippet manager for macOS. Built with Swift 6 and SwiftUI, featuring MCP integration for Claude and Cursor, plus a Raycast extension.

I set up the Snipper MCP and had Cursor import my Snibbets collection of Markdown snippets, extracting the fenced code as the snippet, applying tags from the metadata, and attaching the original Markdown file. It worked perfectly. Then I started querying Cursor about esoteric procedures and it provided me results from Snipper that were perfect. This might be my new way of handling snippets.

Matt Braun’s GoPhoneMe
Matt Braun, creator of a bunch of fun games and great apps, is covering a $2,599 iPhone Duo with app sales before pre-orders open October 16. It’s a fun riff on GoFundMe, but you don’t actually donate money. You just buy apps.
‎DRFT

DRFT listens for your name and any words you choose [and alerts you] during meetings, calls, and lectures — fully on-device. Nothing recorded, nothing uploaded. On iPhone and Mac.

I do all of my screenshots and screen recordings with CleanShot X. I love it to pieces. You should get it.
